Hollandia Pools & Spas is looking to hire a Retail Assistant Store Manager. The ideal candidate will be in charge of planning and directing the day-to-day operations of the retail store. This person will actively develop strategies to improve customer service, increase profitability, create marketing programs that will increase sales and grow the existing customer base while maintaining high store standards and conditions to foster a positive environment for both customers and staff. You must possess the ability to work in a retail setting with retail hours, which would consist of a combination of day, evening, weekend and holiday hours as required. You must also be able to move throughout the store to actively engage customers, demonstrate products, and effectively execute the sales function. We are currently looking for junior service technicians to join our team.

Reporting to the Service Manager, the Pool & Spa Service Technician will be involved in most aspects of pool maintenance, including deliveries, installations, pool openings and closings, weekly maintenance and service calls. This individual will also assist in the delivery and set up of hot tubs as may be required from time to time.

Through a combination of training and experience the hired candidate will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform all elements of the job and be able to competently answer any customer enquiries. Delivering exceptional service to our customers in performing these duties is an essential component of this position.

The ideal candidates will have good knowledge and experience in all aspects of the pool and spa industry, including:

  • Pool openings/ closings
  • Pool/spa maintenance
  • Safety cover installation
  • Equipment installation and repair
  • Troubleshooting: Determine parts and labour requirements for service calls
  • Handle plumbing and pool chemicals (WHMIS training provided)

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of team
  • Effectively communicate with clients and staff
  • Willingness to learn and follow protocols
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to work outdoors in most weather conditions
  • Steel-toed safety footwear
  • Must have a G driver’s license and clean driving record

Terms of Employment:

  • Full Time: Mon-Fri (weekends as required)

Through a combination of training and experience the hired candidate will demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform all elements of the job and be able to competently answer any customer enquiries. This individual will be capable of and responsible for assessing unanticipated issues they may encounter which exceed the original scope of work, and be able to take the appropriate measures needed to achieve a satisfactory resolution. Delivering exceptional service to our customers in performing these duties is an essential component of this position.

The ideal candidates will have 2+ years of senior service experience (or 4+ years in a junior position) including:

  • Pool openings (run crew/train new staff)
  • Pool closings (lead a crew)
  • Pool maintenance
  • Liner installation
  • Safety cover installation
  • Equipment installation and repair
  • Troubleshooting: Determine parts and labour requirements for service calls
  • Train junior staff on pool opening protocols, assist when required
  • Train junior staff on weekly maintenance protocols, assist when required
  • Communicate customer service requests/concerns to management
  • Follow company protocol to complete scheduled tasks and manage inventor
  • Maintain assigned service vehicle/tools/supplies
  • Provide orientations for clients on any aspect of their pool and mechanical system, as needed
  • Complete written service reports and progress reports
  • Handle plumbing and pool chemicals (WHMIS training provided)
  • Contribute ideas for improvement, productivity, and workplace issues
  • Attend required training

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work both individually and lead a team of 1-3 junior staff
  • Effectively communicate with clients and staff
  • Willingness to learn and follow protocols
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area
  • Professional appearance
  • Ability to work outdoors in most weather conditions

  • Must have a G2 or G driver’s license and clean driving record

This really depends on how much you use your spa, but on average we recommend completely draining your hot tub 3 or 4 times per year. In addition, you’ll want to sanitize weekly and regularly use hot tub chemicals for keeping things clean and safe.
