Fire and water.
Two opposing forces (mortal enemies?) that have battled since the dawn of time.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
The proper allocation of fire to your swimming pool can result in one of the ultimate pool accents and create an impression like no other.
Once a fire feature (or features) has been properly integrated into a swimming pool all it takes is that split moment when you “fire things up” (aka – turn it on 😉 to see the impact it makes.
Simply put jaws drop.
By any measure your swimming pools entire dynamic will be undeniably enhanced thanks to the aesthetic fire brings.
Most fire features will incorporate lava rock or smooth iridescent glass stone (both attractive in their own right) and can be powered either by gas or propane if necessary. They can also be tied into an automated system or to a remote control for easy use and implementation.
When it comes to available fire feature options there are many you can choose from.
Let’s start with the most traditional fire feature, a fireplace. While fireplaces are renowned for the cozy feeling they impart in a home, they can do much the same thing when it comes to a swimming pool. They can be either stand alone or incorporated into the pool area itself. It doesn’t take too much imagination to appreciate how amazing jumping out of your warm pool after a cool nights swim and cozy up next to a warm fireplace would be!
Another option are fire pits or fire bowls. These are not only brilliant when lit up, but also present as wonderful accent pieces when they are not running.
Since fire pits/ bowls don’t take up much space when compared to fireplaces (they commonly range from 3 feet to 6 feet in size) so they can offer much more flexibility when it comes to strategic incorporation into your overall pool area.
Finally you could opt for a fire wall. Imagine a 3, 6, 9 or almost any length stone wall with a brilliant strip of fire blazing along its length. As impressive as fire walls are, what takes them to an entire other level is when you incorporate a waterfall element right into the firewall. Now you have the perfect dynamic of fires mesmerizing brilliance and waters calming seduction. So there you have it.
