9 Ways a Swimming Pool Improves Your Life

While it is fair to say that everyone here at Hollandia Pools has an obvious and undeniable bias, we will happily argue that your life will improve in countless ways (well at least 9) if you get a swimming pool.

We are so confident in this belief, that in our opinion, the argument shouldn’t be “should we get a pool” but rather “how quickly can we get one”!

So, whether your motivations are physical, familial, social or medical, here are just a few of the reasons we boldly and confidently make this statement.

  1. Family bonding – As we’ve said countless times before, a swimming pool is one of the last places on earth where everyone interacts and communicates with one another WITHOUT electronics (phones, tablets etc.) interfering. Connecting without outside distractions is a great way to reconnect!
  • Fitness – Swimming is arguably the ultimate low impact activity. With very few exceptions, swimming is something that everyone of all fitness levels can enjoy. It’s ability to work multiple muscle groups while also providing a full body workout is like no other!
  • Injury rehab – While we are not doctors, physiotherapists or medically trained in any shape, way or form, swimming is often one of the exercise suggestions made to people with various injuries as a method of rehabilitation.
  • Longevity – Want to invest in something you can enjoy well into your golden years? Get a swimming pool. Swimming is an amazing activity enjoyed by people of all ages in various stages of life.
  • Recreation and fun – Is there anything better than a pool party? We think not! Further to this, at exactly what age does anyone stop enjoying a cannonball??
  • Relaxation – Often just the mere thought of relaxing in a pool is enough to calm people. Swimming helps people unwind, de-stress and promotes a calm feeling.
  • Sleep – As mentioned in a previous post, swimming can help improve your sleep, a key component of our health and well-being.
  • Mental health – When it comes time to release endorphins that can help reduce stress, anxiety and more, few things can compare to a relaxing swim.
  • Hot day break – With weather patterns constantly changing and our days trending towards being hotter, what is better than having a pool in your backyard to cool off whenever you want?

So, there you have it. Nine solid reasons on how having a swimming pool will improve your life.
